The mirror tool makes a picture perfectly symmetric by reflecting one half of it onto the other. Image Machine does it entirely in your browser: choose which half to keep — left, right, top or bottom — and the opposite half is replaced with its mirror image, so the result is symmetric about the centre line. It is the quickest way to create the classic mirror-image and symmetry-art effects: line up a face for a symmetrical portrait, turn a texture or landscape into a kaleidoscope-like pattern, or build a balanced, symmetric composition for a poster or wallpaper. Unlike Flip, which simply reverses the whole image, Mirror keeps half of the picture and duplicates it the other way, so both sides always match exactly. Because it only copies existing pixels, there is no blurring or blending — every colour in the result comes straight from your original, and transparency is preserved. Everything runs locally: your image is never uploaded, there is no sign-up, and there is no watermark.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Mirror and Flip?

Flip reverses the entire image — a horizontal flip turns the whole picture left-to-right, like looking at it in a mirror, but the two sides are different. Mirror instead keeps one half of the image and reflects it onto the other half, so the left and right (or top and bottom) become identical and the picture is perfectly symmetric. Use Flip to reverse orientation, and Mirror to create symmetry.

Which half gets kept?

You choose. Left → Right keeps the left half and mirrors it onto the right; Right → Left keeps the right half; Top → Bottom keeps the top half and reflects it downward; Bottom → Top keeps the bottom. The half you keep stays exactly as it was, and the opposite half becomes its reflection, so you can pick whichever side of your photo looks best.

What is it good for?

Symmetry is everywhere in design. Mirroring a portrait creates a striking, perfectly symmetrical face. Mirroring a texture, pattern or landscape produces a kaleidoscope-style image that tiles and repeats beautifully — great for wallpapers, backgrounds and abstract art. It is also handy for fixing an off-balance composition or making a logo or banner look deliberately centred and balanced.

Is my image uploaded anywhere?

No. The mirroring runs entirely in your browser on the HTML canvas, so your image never leaves your device and the tool keeps working offline once the page has loaded. It simply copies pixels from one half to the other and exports the result as a PNG — there is no upload, no sign-up and no watermark.
