GIF Effects applies a color filter to every frame of an animated GIF — grayscale, sepia, negative (invert), brighten, darken, saturate, or a hue shift — entirely in your browser. Pick a filter and a live preview updates instantly, then download a brand-new animated GIF. The same Rec.709 luma and standard sepia/hue matrices used by the still-image filters are applied frame by frame, so the look matches the rest of the toolset, and the animation's timing, frame count, loop count and transparency are all preserved. Because decoding, filtering and re-encoding all run locally with plain JavaScript, your GIF is never uploaded to a server: no queue, no watermark, no sign-up, no file-size paywall, and it keeps working offline once the page has loaded.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which effects can I apply to a GIF?
Grayscale (black & white), sepia (warm vintage tone), invert (photo negative), brighten, darken, saturate (more vivid color), and a hue shift that rotates every color around the wheel. Each one is applied to all frames at once and previewed live before you download.
Will the animation and timing be kept?
Yes. Only the colors of each frame change — the number of frames, the per-frame delays, the loop count and the transparency are all preserved, so the GIF animates exactly as before, just with the new look.
Is the quality reduced?
The filter math runs at full color precision and the result is re-encoded as a fresh GIF. GIF itself is a 256-color-per-frame format, so as with any GIF edit the palette is re-quantized, but no extra downscaling or lossy compression is added beyond that.
Is my GIF uploaded anywhere?
No. Decoding the GIF, applying the effect and re-encoding all happen on your device inside the browser. Your GIF is never sent to a server, nothing is stored, and there is no account or watermark. The tool even works offline after the page has loaded.
