Frequently Asked Questions
What information does EXIF data contain?
EXIF can include the camera and lens, shutter speed, aperture, ISO, focal length, the date and time a photo was taken, and often GPS coordinates — a detailed record automatically saved by most cameras and phones.
Can EXIF data reveal my location?
It can. When location tagging is enabled, phones and cameras embed GPS coordinates that pinpoint where a photo was taken. If you're sharing publicly, view the EXIF first and strip it with an EXIF remover if it exposes your location.
Is my photo uploaded to read its EXIF?
No. The metadata is read entirely in your browser, so the image and everything it reveals stay on your device — nothing is sent anywhere.
