A Strength slider lets you dial the correction back from a full auto-fix to a subtle lift by blending the enhanced result with your original. What is the difference between Auto Contrast and Equalize?
Auto Contrast (auto levels) stretches the existing tones to fill the full range — it finds your darkest and lightest pixels and remaps them toward black and white, which fixes flat or hazy photos while keeping the look natural. Equalize (histogram equalization) redistributes the brightness so every tonal level is used as evenly as possible, giving a much punchier, high-contrast result. Auto Contrast is the safe everyday choice; Equalize is best when you want a dramatic boost.
Will it change my colours?
It tries hard not to. Auto Contrast stretches each colour channel to the same target range, which adds depth and only slightly shifts a strong colour cast. Equalize works on brightness only and then scales red, green and blue together by the same ratio, so hues are preserved rather than thrown off. If a result looks too strong, lower the Strength slider to blend it back toward the original.
What does the Strength slider do?
Strength blends the corrected image with your original. At 100% you get the full automatic enhancement; lower values mix in more of the untouched photo for a gentler, more natural lift. Set it to 0 and the tool leaves your image exactly as it was — handy for comparing the before and after.
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. The enhancement runs entirely in your browser on the HTML canvas, so your image never leaves your device and the tool keeps working offline once the page has loaded. It analyses and corrects the pixels locally and exports the result as a PNG — there is no upload, no sign-up and no watermark.
